Published 06/02/26On Wednesday 4th February, the Mayor for Broxbourne, Councillor Patsy Spears visited Burleigh school and met with the Burleigh Parliament. The children were able to ask Madam Mayor all about her life prior to becoming mayor and her current role and responsibilities. Everyone was surprised by how open and warm-hearted Cllr Spears was and we greatly appreciated her visit.

Published 20/01/26Yesterday, our Young Voices choir sang their hearts out at the O2 with 8,000 children from across the country. The whole day was great fun as the children practised their songs, warmed up with the amazing dance group Urban Strides and sang along with guest performers Ruti and Aneesa Folds. The performance itself was magical and made memories that the children will treasure for years to come.

Published 14/01/26On Wednesday 14th January 2026, the Burleigh Parliament did us proud when they met with representatives from Herts County Council and our catering company HCL, to share our children's views on school dinners. The ministers and class MPs put forward the results of our recent food survey respectfully and the chef was very receptive to some of the suggestions they made. Watch this space for future changes!

Published 18/12/25This morning began with an unexpected and magical surprise for the entire school. As pupils assembled on the playground, the gentle sound of sleigh bells echoed through the air, growing louder by the moment. Anticipation built as Father Christmas appeared, arriving in his sleigh to delighted cheers. Joined by one of his cheerful elves, he danced along to the festive music while greeting everyone on the playground. After spreading plenty of Christmas spirit, they waved goodbye and set off once more for Lapland, where preparations for the big day continue.

Raffle tickets are £1 per chance. To purchase your raffle tickets go to the School Gateway, select your child's name, go to Payments, and select FABS Christmas Raffle Tickets. You may buy as many as you wish. Good luck!
Winners will be drawn on Wednesday December 17th with hampers available to pick up on Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday. Hampers not picked up by Friday afternoon at school pickup may be re-distributed due to the timely nature of the food products.

Published 09/12/25Thank you to everyone who attended our 'Elf Extravaganza' on Friday 28th November. The atmosphere was buzzing and FABS made over £1,000 towards our fundraising goal for the school.
Thank you to the whole school community who helped and came along on the day. We hope you had as much fun as we did and FABS are already planning to make the event even better next year!
